30 minIf one kind of chocolate is good, three is better. That is the whole philosophy behind these cookies.
The dough itself is deeply chocolatey from cocoa powder, packed with semisweet chocolate chips that melt into gooey pockets, and then each warm cookie gets a chocolate Kiss pressed right into its center like a little edible jewel.
They bake up soft and fudgy with just enough structure to hold that Kiss upright while it gets glossy and slightly melty from the residual heat.
Kids go absolutely wild for these, and they are a guaranteed hit at bake sales, cookie swaps, or packed into lunch boxes.
Kitchen Tips
- Press the Kisses into the cookies the moment they come out of the oven while the centers are still soft. Wait too long and the cookies will crack.
- Roll the dough into uniform 1-inch balls for even baking. A small cookie scoop makes this fast.
- Do not overbake. Pull them at 10 minutes when the edges look set but the centers still appear slightly underdone. They firm up as they cool.
- Unwrap all the Kisses before you start baking so you can work quickly when the cookies come out hot.
