Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 each egg
1/2 cup molasses
1 1/2 cups flour, all-purpose sifted
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup water boiling

Directions

Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy.

Add beaten egg and molasses.

Sift flour, soda, salt and baking powder together and add alternately with boiling water in small amounts.

Mix thoroughly.

Turn into greased mold and steam 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
