Ingredients

Cake
1 each cake mix, white
1 x eggs as required
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
8 ounces instant pudding mix, pistachio
1/2 cup walnuts chopped, optional
Frosting
3 teaspoons butter or margarine, softened
6 ounces cream cheese softened
1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

Combine cake ingredients.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 45-60 minutes in greased tube pan.

Remove from oven; let cool and remove from pan.

Frosting: Combine all ingredients and frost cooled cake.

Date Chewsticks

Thank you! Date chewsticks were a big hit with my family. They are light yet dense and delicious. One adjustment I had to make, however, was the baking time. After 30 minutes, much of the center was still uncooked. I cut them into small pieces and baked them 15 more minutes on a baking sheet. I think this might have worked better if baked from the start spread out on a sheet.
