| 1 | cup | adzuki beans | |
| 1 | cup | kidney beans | |
| 1 1/2 | quarts | water | |
| 1/2 | cup | pearl barley | |
| 2 | each | celery stalks | chopped |
| 1 | each | carrot | thinly |
| 16 | ounces | tomatoes | chopped |
| 12 | ounces | tomato juice | |
| 2 | tablespoons | olive oil | |
| 1 | each | onion | chopped |
| 1/2 | cup | parsley leaves | chopped |
| 1/2 | cup | spinach | chopped |
| 2 | each | garlic cloves | mashed |
| 1 | teaspoon | oregano | |
| 1 | each | bay leaf | |
| 4 | tablespoons | red wine | |
| 2 | tablespoons | parmesan, parmigiano-reggiano cheese, grated | |
| 2 | tablespoons | soy sauce, tamari |
Saute onion, parsley, spinach, garlic and herbs in olive oil until tender.
Mix all ingredients except wine, soy sauce, and parmesan cheese.
Simmer covered for 1 hour.
Stir in wine, soy sauce and Parmesan cheese before serving.

General:Juniper Berries come from the juniper shrub, an evergreen in the genus juniperus, which grows in the Northern Hemisphere....
Very yummy dish. I changed one thing though, instead of the bread I used Ritz crackers.
