Ingredients

1 cup flour, all-purpose
3/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk, low-fat
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup brown sugar firmly packed
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 3/4 cups water boiling

Directions

Combine first 5 ingredients in a 9-inch square baking pan.

Add milk, oil and vanilla, stir until smooth, Combine brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa and sprinkle over batter.

Pour boiling water over batter (DO NOT STIR) Bake 350 degree oven for about 40 minutes or cake springs back when touched in the center.

Serve warm
