Forget the boxed stuff. This homemade Beef a Roni is the real deal.

Ground beef gets browned up and simmered in a loaded tomato sauce packed with mushrooms, sweet corn, and onions.

Toss it all with shell pasta and you’ve got a one-pot-style dinner that feeds a crowd and fills every belly at the table.

It’s the kind of comfort food that makes Monday nights feel a whole lot less painful.

Kitchen Tips

  • Brown the beef in batches if your pan is crowded. You want a sear, not a steam.
  • Cook the pasta just shy of al dente since it’ll soak up more sauce when you mix everything together.
  • Swap in Italian sausage for half the ground beef if you want a little more punch.
  • Leftovers reheat beautifully with a splash of water or broth to loosen the sauce.
