| 1/2 | cup | milk | |

| 3 | tablespoons | margarine | |
| 2 | large | eggs | |
| 1/4 | cup | margarine | melted |
| 1 | cup | apricots, dried | chopped |
| 1/2 | cup | almonds | slivered |
In a large bowl, mix 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar, salt and undissolved yeast. Heat milk, water and 3 tbs margarine to 120F -130F. Add to dry ingredients; beat 2 minutes at medium speed of mixer. I am delighted to have found this recipe again. My mother always made this Lane Cake at Xmas time back in the 50's and it is undoubtedly the best fruitcake I have ever eaten. It is best made and let "ripen" a week or so before eating it. I intend to make one during this holiday season. Pat in Raleigh, NC
