Coffee bean brownies: thin sheet-pan brownies with Kahlua and strong brewed coffee in the batter, topped with warm fudgy cocoa frosting poured onto the hot tray. Makes 36.
The combination of black beans and sweet potato gives these brownies a moreish, moist quality. These are great for kids as they contain no added sugar or trans-fats (you may wish to omit the coffee and substitute cacao powder if serving to youngsters, though).
Orange and coffee bean cordial: a whole orange studded with coffee beans, sugar cubes, and vanilla, steeped in cognac for two months. Classic French-style homemade digestif, no special equipment needed.
