Directions

Cut the slices of cucumber into square/rectangle shapes. In a small bowl add the cucumbers, vinegar and blue food coloring and set aside.

Make the patties: In a bowl thoroughly mix together the ground beef, onion, garlic, bread crumbs, egg, salt and thyme.

Shape into 4 equal sized patties in the shape of a square or rectangle. Refrigerate until ready to cook.

When ready to serve cook the patties on a pre-heated grill.

Decorate the burgers:

The ketchup and mayonnaise should be place into squeeze bottles.

Place a slice of blue colored cucumber in the upper right corner of the burger.

Using the ketchup make stripes of the American flag lengthwise across the patty.

Using the mayonaise add white stripes between the red stripes from the ketchup.

If desired make stars to compliment the stripes using small dots of mayonaise.

Serve with the burger on the lower half of the bun. Other condiments can be placed onto the upper half of the hamburger bun as desired and allow your guests to assemble their own burger.
