This recipe is suitable for using with a cookie press or simply rolling the dough out and using cookie cutters.

How to make butter cookies

Using a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together.

Beat in the eggs and vanilla, mixing well.

In a little bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and baking powder; gradually add to the creamed butter and egg mixture and incorporating fully.

Shape with a cookie press or roll out to desired thickness with a rolling pin on a lightly floured surface can cut into shapes as desired.

Place on ungreased cookie sheets.

Decorate with sugar if desired.

Bake at 350℉ (180℃) between 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are slightly brown.
