Pear Walnut Coffee Cake

Why is there no coffee listed in the ingredients of coffee cake?

It's like how they call it a "hot dog," but it's not made from a canine that's feeling feverish.

The same goes for coffee cake. It's not made with coffee, but it's meant to be enjoyed alongside a cup of that delicious, caffeinated goodness.

It's like a cakey sidekick to your coffee's superhero, always there to lend a sweet, crumbly hand.
