Dad's Cream of Potato Soup recipe
Once upon a time I was reading a magazine article about good cooking. The journalist tried to convince me not to use some combinations of ingredients. One of the "banned" combinations mentioned was green and black olives. And so this soup was born to enjoy me.
Made this Italian grilled cheese with 15-minute tomato soup (see the linked recipe below) for lunch, and what more can I say other than delicious. Grilled cheese and tomato soup are a classic pair, so it always a winner.

This delicious leek and potato soup is such a tasty and nutritious winter soup recipe. We love making soup in the slow cooker as it so easy to do and there’s nothing better than having your dinner ready and waiting for you when you get home from work. To give this recipe a delicious crunch, we’ve also topped it with hazelnuts (which make a fantastic healthy alternative to croutons, and they taste great too).
The first time I tried this version of the recipe, I ate it for all three meals. LOVED it! If you have leftovers, toss in a can of tomatoes, a can of white beans, and whatever veggies you have in the fridge, and make yourself a tasty soup.
Ginger Squash Soup recipe
Didn't make the whole chicken, instead cooked one chicken breast with skin and bone. Followed the recipe exactly, and roasted the chicken in the oven until the temperature of the breast was 165 F, which took me about 10 minutes. Then let the cooked chicken breast stand for about 10 minutes, this way made a succulent chicken breast. Served it with some roasted baby carrots tossed with same spices for chicken, delicious!
