This is my Signature Recipe! It is asked for at Potluck-Dinners by people who once tasted it, even those who don't care for Sauerkraut are now asking me to bring it.
I used durum wheat flour instead of semolina. Barney unplugged my machine, so I had to finish the second rise, and bake it in the real oven. It turned out great. This bread is not sweet, it has almost a "sour" taste. Holds up nice for sandwiches. I'll make it again.
This is probably the best scalloped potatoes I've had. We made our own cream of mushroom soup with dried wild mushrooms (see recipe link below). Tons of rich mushroom flavor that was embedded in the potatoes along with a nice cheesy flavor throughout. We used a nice old cheddar. The paprika was a nice touch and it ended up giving the potatoes a very rich color (see photos).
