Old Fashioned Mince Pie


well have'nt made it yet but it sure sounds yummy













Low in Saturated Fat, Low Cholesterol, Cholesterol-Free, Trans-fat Free, Good source of fiber, Very low in sodium, Low Sodium


237 ml TVP (Texturized Vegetable Protein)
237 ml water
946 ml apples
peeled, diced
237 ml raisins, seedless
118 ml apple cider
118 ml brown sugar
1 each oranges
rind grated, juiced
1 each lemon
rind grated, juiced
5 ml cinnamon
5 ml nutmeg
5 ml mace
2.5 ml allspice
118 ml walnuts


Bring first group of ingredients in kettle to a boil, reduce heat and simmer gently until apples are soft, about 20 minutes.

Stir in spices and nuts and cook 5 minutes more.

Keep in a covered jar in refrigerator until ready to use.

Makes 1 quart. TO MAKE PIE:

Line a 9 inch pie plate with the bottom crust, fill with mince mixture, top with crust, seal edges by crimping together, slash top in 6 places.

Brush a little soy milk onto the crust.

Bake at 375℉ (190℃) F about 1 hour until nicely browned.

If pie begins to brown too soon, lay a piece of foil lightly over the top.
