Directions

Preheat oven to 400℉ (200℃).

Add the flour and baking powder to a bowl. Cut in the butter until resembling crumbs. Slowly add the milk, gently tossing until a dough ball forms, try not to overwork the dough, set aside.

Bring the maple syrup and water to the boil in a small pot, transfer to a 13 x 9 inch glass baking dish .

Drop tablespoons of the dumpling dough into the maple syrup.

Bake, uncovered for about 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a dumpling comes out clean.

Serve warm topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
