| 4 | ounces | chocolate unsweetened | unsweetened, cut up |
| 3 | large | eggs | beaten |
| 1 1/2 | cups | sugar | granulated |
| 1/2 | cup | vegetable oil | |
| 2 | teaspoons | baking powder | |
| 2 | teaspoons | vanilla extract | |
| 2 | cups | flour, all-purpose | |
| 1 | x | powdered sugar | sifted |
| 48 | each | chocolate kisses | with stripes |
Stir the chocolate in a small heavy saucepan over low heat until melted.
Cool.
Combine the eggs, sugar, melted chocolate, oil, baking powder and vanilla extract in a large bowl.
Gradually add the flour, stirring until combined.
Cover; chill for 2 hours, or until easy to handle.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Shape the dough into 1 1/4-inch balls; roll in powdered sugar.
Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are set and the tops cracked.
While still hot, press a kiss into the center of each cookie.
Cool on a wire rack.

My family loved this simple easy meal, even my very picky son! Since my son is graduating from high school this year and he likes it so well it will be part of our open house buffet. It's also inexpensive to make. The only changes I would make would be to add at least twice the salt and pepper. I'm not one to use a lot of salt, but everyone was adding salt and pepper. The second time I made it I doubled both and they were all still adding. Otherwise it's great. Thanks!
