Ingredients

1 1/2 cups water
2 cups sugar (or less, to taste)
2 3-4 inch cinnamon sticks
2 teaspoons cloves whole
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 Bottles red wine (750 ml) burgundy
2 cups cranberry juice cocktail chilled
1 litre apple cider chilled
ice
lemon or lime, thinly sliced

Directions

In saucepan bring water, sugar, spices and salt to boil.

Lower heat and simmer 10 minutes; strain-out and discard spices; cool syrup.

Combine spiced syrup with wine, cranberry juice cocktail and cider.

Pour into punch bowl, add ice and lemon slices.

Tortellini And Spinach Stew

Very quick and yummy. Good use for leftover cooked spinach and homemade chicken stock! I added some garbanzo beans too, and it came out almost like a minestrone. ( I would add more stock next time, though.)
