Hello I just made a batch of these donuts and I have to admit that these are the best I've ever made. I give it 5 stars. So easy to make. Paddy Landreville

Ingredients

8 tablespoons vegetable shortening melted
1 cup sugar
3 large eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups flour, all-purpose
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

Combine dry ingredients and set aside.

Cream together melted Crisco and sugar.

Add eggs.

Add alternately milk, with vanilla added and flour mixture.

Roll to 1/4 inch thick.

Fry at 365 degrees F until golden.

Shake in bag with cinnamon and sugar.
