| 4 | each | egg yolks | |
| 3 | tablespoons | sugar | |
| 1 | pinch | salt | |
| 2 | cups | light cream | |
| 1 | teaspoon | vanilla extract | |
| 1 | x | peaches | sliced, fresh |
| 1 | x | strawberries | fresh |
Beat egg yolks until slightly thickened. Gradually add sugar and a pinch of salt. Scald table cream and pour slowly into egg mixture, stirring. Add vanilla and pour into baking dishes. Set them in a pan with 1 inch of water and bake at 350 degrees for 45 mins to 1 hour.
Test with clean knife. Can be prepared a day ahead. Sprinkle top with sugar and/or top with fresh sliced peaches or strawberries.
Ilove this delicious dessert! I think the cream is so delighful!The caramel on top makes it seem like if you are in heaven!

This is really, really good. I made it for the first time today. I used 3/4 cup Splenda and 3/4 regular sugar. I had to add more lemon juice than this recipe called for in order for the berries to have enough juice to pour. It does make a large quart, so be forewarned.
