suggest servings
| 2 | sticks | butter | |
| 3 | cups | flour, all-purpose | sifted |
| 1 | teaspoon | baking soda | |
| 3 | large | eggs | |
| 2 | cups | sugar | |
| 1 | cup | buttermilk | |
| 3 | teaspoons | butternut flavouring | |

| 8 | ounces | cream cheese | |
| 1 | stick | butter | |
| 1 | box | powdered sugar | |
| 2 | teaspoons | butternut flavouring | |
| 1 | cup | nuts | chopped |
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease and flour three 9-inch cake pans of butter.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Mix soda and salt into buttermilk until foamy.
Add alternately with flour.
Add 3 teaspoons flavoring.
Pour into prepared pans and bake until done, 20 to 25 minutes.
In a bowl, mix 3 teaspoons flavoring.
Add nuts.
Spread on cooled cake.
This recipe is miswritten. "Grease and flour 3 9-inch pans of butter"???? Also there are NO instructions on how to make the icing. YOu don't just mix 3 teaspoons of flavoring and dump nuts on a cake. This is a definite OOPS!
