| 1 | small | red cabbage | head |
| 2 | each | granny smith apples | |
| 2 | tablespoons | sugar | |
| 1/3 | cup | red wine | |
| 3/4 | teaspoon | flour, all-purpose | |
| 1/2 | cup | grapes, seedless | |
| 1 | small | onion | chopped |
| 3/4 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 3/4 | tablespoon | butter | |
| 1 | x | vinegar | small amount to preserve color |
Pare and slice apples.
Shred cabbage, cook covered in small amount of boiling salted water for 8 to 10 minutes.
Add small amount of vinegar to preserve color.
Drain, reserving 1 cup liquid.
Place layer of cabbaage in butttered baking dish.
Combine grapes, apples, onion, sugar and salt.
Arrange in alternate layers with cabbage, making top layer cabbage.
Add cabbage liquid and wine.
Dot with butter.
Cover and bake at 375 F. for 1 hour.
Shake over top, mix lightly with fork and bake 15 minutes longer.
I love this Baked Red Cabbage with Apples recipes, surprised me a lot, I just wanted to get rid of my red cabbage that had been there for quite a while, then I found this recipe, followed the ingredients and directions exactly, and the result was amazing, delicious, the leftover was even better.

This is absolutely delicious! Instead of using oil/bread crumbs, I used italian seasoned bread crumbs and melted salted butter. The butter gave it a nice flavor. Just be careful as you know butter burns fast. This was really a hit!
