5 minThis isn’t guacamole. It’s guacamole’s quirky, sweet-toothed cousin.
Two ripe avocados and a half cup of raisins get blended together with lime juice, oil, and a pinch of sugar until silky smooth. The result is a dip that’s creamy and rich from the avocado but has this unexpected sweetness from the raisins that keeps you dipping.
The lime juice cuts through the richness and the black pepper adds just enough edge.
Five minutes. One blender. That’s it.
Pile it onto a platter with tortilla chips, raw vegetables, or crackers and watch it disappear.
Kitchen Tips
- Use fully ripe avocados. If they’re not soft enough, the dip won’t blend smooth and you’ll end up with chunks.
- Blend on high for a full 45 seconds to make sure the raisins are completely pureed. Bits of raisin skin in the dip are not the texture you’re going for.
- A squeeze of extra lime juice on top just before serving keeps the surface from browning and brightens the flavor.
Variations
- Spicy Version: Add a seeded jalapeno or a few dashes of hot sauce to the blender for a sweet-heat combination.
- Tropical Twist: Swap the raisins for dried mango pieces and add a pinch of chili powder for a Caribbean vibe.
