A simple bread machine recipe that creates a rich and scrumptious bread that's the perfect breakfast for a large family.

Ingredients

2 teaspoons yeast, active dry active dry
3 cups bread flour
3 tablespoons wheat germ
3 tablespoons wheat bran
4 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 each garlic cloves minced
2 tablespoons parsley leaves fresh chopped
1/4 cup water

Directions

Add all ingredients in the order suggested by your bread machine manual and process on the basic bread cycle according to the manufacturer's directions. Let the loaf cool before slicing. Serve plain or toasted. Makes 1-1/2 pound loaf.

I have made this bread so many times that I have lost count. It is great with a spagetti dinner. You can also make the dough and shape into rolls which were a big hit when I made them for a ladies' salad lunch.

Chocolate Chip Butter Cookies

These come out like shortbread and are fantastic. They are soft out of the oven and harden up as they cool. I cut the batch in fourth since it seemed like such a huge number of cookies, and my three year old daughter and I ate the entire tray in an afternoon! Make the whole batch! -LH 03-02-01
