It is less sweet than traditional chutneys; most of its sweetness comes not from sugar, but from apples, dates, and parsnips. I made this recipe using 1/2 cup bread crumbs instead of the slices of bread. I did not happen to have worchesteshire sauce, so I substituted soy sauce. It was the best meat loaf I had ever made!
