32 minGot a box of yellow cake mix and about 30 minutes? You’ve got cookies.
These drop cookies skip the fuss entirely. Cake mix, crunchy peanut butter, eggs, oil, water, and a whole bag of chocolate chips get stirred together in one bowl. No creaming butter, no chilling dough, no overthinking it.
Scoop them onto a sheet and bake until the edges set. The cake mix gives them a soft, cakey chew while the crunchy peanut butter adds nutty texture in every bite and the chocolate chips go all melty and gooey.
They’re the kind of cookie you make when you want something homemade without the homework.
Kitchen Tips
- Use crunchy peanut butter for texture, but creamy works if that’s what’s in the pantry
- Don’t overbake. Pull them when the edges look set but the centers still look slightly underdone. They firm up as they cool
- Let the cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring so they hold together
- Toss in a handful of M&Ms or chopped peanuts for an extra layer of crunch and color
