Ingredients

1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1/2 small watermelon evenly shaped
1/4 cup brandy
12 oz) lemon-lime soda
1 x ice cubes
1 teaspoon pine nuts shelled

Directions

In a saucepan, bring sugar and water to a boil; cool.

Scoop watermelon with a melon baller; discard seeds.

Pour sugar syrup over watermelon balls.

Scoop remaining watermelon; squeeze in a clean cloth to extract juice.

Combine watermelon balls, watermelon juice, and brandy; chill.

Cut the upper edge of the watermelon shell in a saw-tooth design and use as a punch bowl.

Just before serving, add watermelon mixture, soda, and ice cubes to watermelon shell.

Sprinkle with nuts.

Canadian Cipate (C-Pout)

Haven't made this one yet, but ma belle-soeur (my sister-in-law) makes an outstanding cipate every Christmas Eve. I think you'll need more than one 9 inch pie crust for all the layers.
