Turn a basic vegetable tray into a holiday centerpiece. Broccoli florets arranged in a tree shape with the stem as the trunk, cauliflower scattered around the base like snow, and quartered cherry tomatoes and carrot slices placed as colorful ornaments. The whole thing sits on a layer of creamy ranch dressing for dipping.

This is a 15-minute project that gets more attention at a Christmas party than anything that took two hours. Kids love it, adults eat more vegetables than they planned to, and the presentation does all the work for you.

Spreading the ranch dressing on the bottom of the dish instead of serving it on the side means every piece of vegetable picks up dressing when you grab it. No double-dipping, no separate bowl to knock over.

Kitchen Tips

  • Use a broccoli stem trimmed flat for the tree trunk. It anchors the design and gives the tree shape a realistic base.
  • Pack the broccoli florets tightly together to form the tree canopy. Gaps make it look sparse instead of full.
  • Quarter the cherry tomatoes so they lie flat and look like ornament bulbs rather than rolling off the tree.

Variations

  • Add a yellow bell pepper star cut-out at the top of the tree for a finishing touch.
  • Use hummus or a spinach dip instead of ranch for a different flavor base.
  • Tuck in sliced red and orange bell peppers alongside the tomatoes for more color variety.
