60 minA tuna melt on a bagel is already a solid move, but this one goes all in.
The filling is stacked: crunchy walnuts, sweet pickles, chopped hard-boiled egg, green onions, and a hit of mustard and lemon juice give this tuna salad way more personality than your average deli scoop.
Pile it between thick tomato slices on a toasted bagel, blanket the whole thing in shredded cheddar, and wrap it in foil.
After a slow bake, unwrap and flash it under the broiler until the cheese gets golden and bubbly.
A dusting of paprika on top and you’ve got a hot, melty, crunchy lunch that lives up to its name.
Pro Tips
- Wrap the foil loosely so the cheese doesn’t stick to it during baking
- The broiler step is optional but absolutely worth it for that golden, bubbling cheese crust
- Toast the bagels before assembling so they hold up to the juicy tomato and warm filling
