These playful cookies are what happens when snickerdoodles meet a candy shop. A simple golden sugar cookie base gets loaded up with three kinds of chips before each dough ball takes a tumble through rainbow-colored sugar.

The result? Cookies with a glittery, crunchy exterior and a chewy center bursting with butterscotch, chocolate, and peanut butter in every bite.

They’re a hit at bake sales, cookie swaps, and after-school snacking.

Kids go wild shaking the dough balls in the sugar bag, so put those little helpers to work!

Kitchen Tips

  • Chill the dough for a full hour so the balls hold their shape and don’t spread too thin in the oven
  • Use a cookie scoop for uniform 1.5-inch balls so they bake evenly
  • Let cookies cool completely on the sheet before moving them, as they firm up as they rest
