5 minFive-minute punch for a crowd. This is the kind of pink-and-fizzy bowl that turns up at every baby shower, kid’s birthday, and church potluck for a reason: it serves 32 people, you assemble it in the time it takes to open four cans, and the frozen strawberries in syrup do double duty as ice and flavor.
The trick is the ratio of orange juice to pink lemonade, three cans of each. The orange brings sweetness and depth, the lemonade pulls everything tart and bright, and together they balance into something that does not taste like either juice on its own.
Ginger ale is the right soda choice here, not lemon-lime. The ginger spice plays against the strawberry without doubling up on citrus, and the carbonation lifts the whole punch off the tongue. Adding it just before serving keeps the fizz alive.
The frozen strawberries with syrup are non-negotiable, the syrup gives the punch its rosy pink color and just enough body to coat the tongue. Plain frozen strawberries miss that signature tint.
Party Tips
- Add the ginger ale at the very last moment before guests arrive. Pouring it in too early flattens the punch fast.
- Use a frozen ring mold of strawberries and orange slices in place of ice cubes for a prettier presentation that does not water down the punch as it melts.
- Make a strawberry ice block by freezing a few cups of the punch itself in a tube pan the night before, this keeps things cold without dilution.
- Serve immediately after mixing for peak fizz, or hold without the ginger ale and add when ready.
Variations
- Spike adult bowls with a cup of vodka or white rum, leave the kid version alcohol-free.
- Float fresh strawberry slices and orange wheels on top for a fancier garnish.
- Substitute Sprite or 7UP for ginger ale if you prefer a sweeter, more lemon-lime profile (or for kids who balk at ginger).
