Fire up the grill, because these kabobs are about to become your new go-to.

A thick marinade of barbecue sauce, honey, and Dijon mustard coats plump shrimp and whole mushroom caps overnight, letting all that sweet, smoky, tangy flavor soak deep. Thread them onto skewers and grill for just 7 to 8 minutes until the shrimp are charred at the edges and the mushrooms are juicy.

Five ingredients. Minimal effort. Maximum backyard bragging rights.

Kitchen Tips

  • Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling so they don’t catch fire
  • Keep the mushroom caps whole so they stay juicy on the grill instead of drying out
  • The overnight marinade is what makes these special; if you’re short on time, at least give them 2 hours
  • Brush extra marinade on the kabobs as they grill for a sticky, caramelized glaze
