30 minThese twisted pizza sticks turn refrigerated breadstick dough into a snack that kids and adults both reach for. Each stick gets stuffed with pepperoni slices, folded over, twisted, then topped with a Parmesan and Italian seasoning blend before baking to a golden, crispy finish.
The fold-and-twist technique seals the pepperoni inside so it stays put while baking, and the cheese and seasoning on top get toasty and fragrant in the oven. Serve them warm with heated pizza sauce for dipping and watch them disappear.
Pinch the edges firmly before twisting. If the seal is loose, the pepperoni peeks out and the dough unravels as it bakes.
Kitchen Tips
- Use thin-sliced pepperoni so it fits neatly inside the fold without bulging the dough open.
- Don’t skip sealing the ends. Press the dough together with your fingertips or a fork to lock everything in.
- Space the sticks about an inch apart on the cookie sheet so they crisp evenly on all sides.
- Serve within 10 minutes of baking for the best texture. They soften as they cool.
Variations
- Add a strip of mozzarella inside each stick for a gooey, cheese-pull effect.
- Swap pepperoni for cooked Italian sausage crumbles or diced ham.
- Brush the tops with garlic butter instead of the dry seasoning mix for a richer finish.
