Three ingredients, 30 seconds in the blender, and you’ve got a creamy peach smoothie with a warm nutmeg finish. Chilled peach nectar and peach yogurt double up on fruit flavor while milk rounds out the body.

Using peach nectar instead of fresh fruit gives this a smoother, silkier texture with no fibrous bits. It also means you can make this any time of year without worrying about peach season. The nutmeg on top might seem like a small detail, but that warm spice against the cold, fruity drink is what makes it memorable.

Chill everything before blending. Cold ingredients straight from the fridge mean you don’t need ice, which would water down the flavor.

Kitchen Tips

  • Use whole milk for the creamiest result. Skim milk makes it thinner and less satisfying.
  • Blend on high for the full 30 seconds to get a completely smooth texture.
  • Freshly grated nutmeg has way more punch than the pre-ground stuff. A few passes on a microplane is all you need.

Variations

  • Freeze the peach nectar in ice cube trays and blend from frozen for a thicker, slushy-style cooler.
  • Swap peach yogurt for vanilla yogurt and add a ripe fresh peach for a chunkier version.
  • Add a banana for extra body and natural sweetness.
