| 1/2 | cup | milk | |
| 1/2 | cup | sugar | |
| 2 | tablespoons | orange flower water | |
| 1 | tablespoon | lemon zest | grated |
| 1/4 | cup | brandy | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | nutmeg | ground |
| 8 | slices | bread, french | stale |
| 2 | tablespoons | butter | |
| 2 | tablespoons | vegetable oil | |
| 1 | x | powdered sugar | |
| 1 | x | cane syrup |
Combine the eggs, milk, sugar, orange flower water, lemon zest, brandy and nutmeg in a bowl.
Mix well.
Soak the bread in the liquid mixture.
Heat the butter and oil in a heavy frying pan.
Fry the bread until golden brown on both sides.
Dust with powdered sugar and serve with warm cane syrup.
