2 hrsThis frozen chocolate peanut butter pie tastes like a Snickers bar in frozen pie form, and it’s shockingly low in calories. No crust, no baking, no complicated steps. Just mix five ingredients in a bowl, pour into a pie pan, and freeze.
Sugar-free chocolate pudding mix and chocolate ice milk build the chocolate base, while crunchy peanut butter brings the nutty, salty contrast that makes a Snickers a Snickers. Light whipped topping keeps everything creamy without the calories of real whipped cream.
Grape-Nuts are the surprise ingredient. They mimic the crunchy nougat-and-peanut texture of the candy bar, adding little bursts of crunch throughout the smooth, frozen filling.
Freeze for at least two hours, but overnight is even better. A longer freeze gives the pie a firmer, more scoopable texture.
Kitchen Tips
- Soften the ice milk just enough to stir, not melt. Fully melted ice milk makes the filling icy instead of creamy when refrozen.
- Spray the pie pan well. Without a crust, the frozen filling sticks directly to the pan. A good coating of cooking spray makes slicing and serving much easier.
- Let the pie sit at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes before cutting. Straight from the freezer, it’s too hard to slice cleanly.
Variations
- Graham cracker crust: Add a low-fat graham cracker crust for a more traditional pie presentation.
- Banana layer: Slice a banana across the bottom of the pan before pouring in the filling for a frozen chocolate-peanut butter-banana combo.
- Caramel drizzle: Top slices with a thin drizzle of sugar-free caramel sauce for an even closer Snickers experience.
