Log Cabin Toast is cinnamon toast with a playful twist that kids absolutely love. Toast, butter, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, cut into strips, and stack them like little logs to build a cabin on the plate. Then eat it from the top down, log by log.

It’s the simplest breakfast recipe you’ll ever make, and the building part turns a regular morning into something that gets kids excited to sit at the table.

Mix the cinnamon and sugar ahead of time and keep it in a jar so it’s always ready for quick cinnamon toast mornings. Spread the butter while the toast is still hot so it melts into the bread, then the cinnamon sugar sticks to the butter.

Cut each slice into four even strips so they stack neatly. Alternate the direction of each layer, just like real log cabin walls, for a sturdy build.

Kitchen Tips

  • Use soft butter so it spreads easily without tearing the toast
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar generously so every bite is sweet and spiced
  • Whole wheat or white bread both work; thick-sliced holds up better for stacking

Variations

  • Add a dollop of peanut butter under the cinnamon sugar for more staying power
  • Use raisin bread for extra sweetness
  • Let kids build their own cabin at the table for a hands-on breakfast activity
