The Horny Bull is a frozen tequila cocktail that leans sweet and citrusy, almost like a grown-up slushie. Orange juice, lemonade, and a splash of grenadine get blended with ice until thick and frosty, with the tequila providing just enough kick underneath all that fruit.

The grenadine does double duty here. It adds a layer of pomegranate sweetness and gives the drink that signature sunset-pink color at the bottom of the glass. Pour it in last if you want a layered effect instead of blending it in.

Blend until the ice is fully crushed and the drink holds its shape. You want a slushy consistency, not a watery pour. If it’s too thin, add more ice and blend again.

Pro Tips

  • Use a good blanco tequila. In a frozen drink this simple, cheap tequila tastes harsh. A smooth blanco makes a real difference.
  • Fresh-squeezed orange juice is always better here. The natural sweetness means you can use less grenadine and avoid a cloying drink.
  • Don’t skip the garnish. An orange wedge and a cherry on the rim make this feel like a proper cocktail, not just blended juice.

Variations

  • Spicy bull: Rim the glass with Tajin seasoning and add a thin slice of jalapeño to the blender for a sweet-heat version.
  • Virgin horny bull: Skip the tequila entirely and you’ve still got a fantastic frozen fruit drink for brunch.
