Ingredients

1clove garlicVideo minced
3teaspoons maple syrup
1teaspoon sage *
1/2teaspoon thyme *
1/2teaspoon salt
1/2teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
1pinch cayenne pepperVideo or more to taste*
1pound ground pork
* not incl. in nutrient facts

Directions

Add all the ingredients to a reasonably sized bowl and mix together thoroughly with your hands until well combined.

Form the mixture into 8 patties, about 2 inches wide and 1/2 inch thick.

Heat a small amount of oil (just enough to start off the frying) in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.

Cook until well browned, about 5 minutes per side.

The patties can be made in advance and refrigerated the day before use. Or they can be frozen (sealed in a zipper bag) for up to two months).

Frozen patties can be cooked directly from frozen by extending the cooking time to 8 to 10 minutes per side.
