| 3/4 | cup | butter | room temperature |
| 1 | cup | sugar | white |
| 1 | cup | brown sugar | |
| 4 | large | eggs | |
| 1/2 | cup | cocoa powder | |
| 1 1/2 | cups | flour, all-purpose | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 1/2 | cup | sourdough starter | |
| 1 | tablespoon | vanilla extract | |
| 3/4 | cup | chocolate (semi-sweet) | semi-sweet pieces |
| 1/2 | cup | nuts | chopped |
In bowl of electric mixer, cream butter and sugars.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
Stir dry ingredients together.
Combine starter and vanilla, add alternately with dry ingredients to sugar mixture.
Spread in greased 11 1/2x7 1/2x1 1/2 inch pan.
Sprinkle chocolate and nuts on top.
Bake in preheated 350 degrees F oven 30 min.

Absolutely great jelly! It received rave reviews! Wonderful served with softened cream cheese on crackers. I tried a mixture of apricots and nectarines it was wonderful too.
