Ingredients

1 cup dark molasses
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon ginger
1 cup water boiling
2 1/2 cups flour, all-purpose
1 teaspoon baking soda

Directions

Blend together the first 7 ingred. and stir in the boiling water.

Mix in the unsifted flour. Dissolve the baking soda in 2 T. of hot water; add to batter. Pour into a greased 8x8x2 inch cake pan.

Bake 30 min. at 350F.
