This fruit juice cooler layers four different citrus and stone fruit juices into one tall, cold glass. Peach nectar brings thick, sweet body. Orange juice adds familiar citrus sweetness. Grapefruit juice contributes a bitter edge. And lemon juice sharpens everything up. Mixed with bottled sparkling water, it’s a layered, complex drink that tastes like more than the sum of its parts.

The peach nectar is what sets this apart from a basic juice blend. It’s thicker and sweeter than regular juice, giving the cooler a slightly velvety texture that straight juice combinations lack. A full 12-ounce can provides the base flavor that the citrus juices then brighten and balance.

No sugar added, which means the sweetness comes entirely from the fruit. If your peach nectar isn’t very sweet, taste the mix before serving and adjust. A teaspoon of honey or simple syrup can bring everything into balance without overpowering the fruit flavors.

Serve immediately over ice in tall glasses. This drink doesn’t hold well because the sparkling water goes flat and the flavors dull as the ice melts and dilutes the juice.

Pro Tips

  • Chill all the juices and water before mixing. Starting cold means less ice needed, which means less dilution.
  • Use real bottled sparkling water, not tonic or club soda. Tonic is sweetened and club soda has a salty mineral taste.
  • For the clearest presentation, pour the juices first, then gently add the sparkling water to preserve the bubbles.

Variations

  • Tropical version: Swap the grapefruit juice for passion fruit juice and add a splash of coconut water.
  • Adult cooler: Add 2 ounces of white rum or peach schnapps per glass for a summer cocktail.
