Easter nests candy: shredded coconut bound in melted white chocolate and green coating, shaped into little nests, and filled with jelly beans. A four-ingredient no-bake project kids love.

2 hrsEaster nests are the craft-fair classic every grandma seems to have in her back pocket, and they’re forgiving enough for kids to help with. Melted white chocolate plus green candy coating give you that soft pastel-moss color, and the shredded coconut mimics straw better than anything you could buy.
The shaping matters. Spoon the mix onto wax paper in heaping mounds, then press a thumb dimple right in the middle while the mixture is still glossy and pliable. Wait too long and the coating seizes up, leaving you with flat lumps instead of tidy nests.
A few minutes in the freezer locks the shape in fast and gives the coconut that satisfying snap when you bite in. Pop three or four jelly beans into each dimple and you’ve got edible centerpieces, basket fillers, or homemade gifts that look far fussier than they are.
Store them in a cool spot or the fridge; they soften fast in a warm kitchen.
Kitchen Tips
- Melt coatings slowly over a double boiler or in 20-second microwave bursts; burnt chocolate seizes and turns grainy.
- Work in small batches so the mixture stays pliable while you shape.
- Use mini jelly beans if you can find them; the proportions look more realistic.
- Line trays with wax paper, not foil, or the nests will stick.
Variations
- Tint the white chocolate with pastel gel food colors for pink, yellow, or blue nests.
- Swap jelly beans for malted milk eggs or Robin’s eggs for a retro look.
- Add a few toasted coconut flakes on top for a scorched-straw effect.

Directions
Melt your coating mix.
In bowl of melted coating mix in the coconut.
Spoon out on was paper, put a indentation in middle to look like a nest, and add the small jelly beans.
I also put in the freezer for a few minutes to set real good.
