70 minListen, sometimes you just need a dessert that requires zero mixing bowls and exactly zero skill, and this dump cake is that hero.
Layer cherry pie filling and juicy crushed pineapple in a pan, sprinkle dry yellow cake mix right over the top, drizzle with melted butter, and finish with a shower of shredded coconut and chopped pecans.
One hour in the oven and you’ve got a bubbly, golden, fruit-studded cake with crispy edges and a gooey center that people will fight over.
No mixer. No eggs. No fuss.
Variations
- Swap the fruit: Use blueberry or apple pie filling instead of cherry, or try a can of peach slices for a Southern twist.
- Go chocolate: Use devil’s food cake mix and swap cherry filling for raspberry for a rich, fudgy spin.
- Add crunch: Toss in a handful of sliced almonds or walnuts alongside the pecans.
