Double Decker Brownies Using Basic Cookie Mix

Ingredients

1 each brownie mix
1 cup miniature marshmallows
1 cup peanut butter chips
1 tablespoon vegetable shortening
1 1/2 cups crisp rice cereal

Directions

Make one recipe brownies from basic cookie mix.

Bake for 25 minutes.

Remove from oven. Evenly sprinkle miniature marshmallows over brownies.

Return to oven.

Bake 5 additional minutes. Remove from oven; cool in pan.

Combine peanut butter chips and shortening in the top of a double boiler over hot, NOT boiling water.

Stir until melted. Add the rice cereal; stir until thoroughly coated.

Spread over top of marshmallows.

Cool until set. Cut into squares.1
