| 1/2 | each | cabbage | course sliced |
| 1 | each | potatoes | peeled, diced |
| 1 | teaspoon | salt | |
| 1/2 | teaspoon | caraway seeds | |
| 1 | each | onion | cut 1 inch slices |
| 1 1/2 | pound | polish sausage | cut 1 inch pieces |
| 14 | ounces | chicken broth |
Place sliced cabbage in crockpot. Toss with diced potato, salt and caraway seed. Add sliced onion and Polish sausage. Pour chicken broth over all; stir lightly. Cover and cook on Low setting for 8 to 10 hours (on HIGH setting for 2 to 4 hours).
This dish is delicious served with mustard, horseradish and boiled new potatoes. Makes 4 servings (about 3 1/2 quarts).

MOST POLISH COOKS WOULD NOT USE CHICKEN STOCK. MY MOTHER HAD HER OWN SECRET STOCK. THE WATER SAVED AFTER COOKING POLISH SMOKED SAUSAGE. TRY IT. IT WILL HAVE A DIFFERENT TASTE. ADD DRIED POLISH MUSHROOMS AND 1 LBS. OF SAURKRAUT FOR A DIFFERENT TASTE, EASTERN EUROPEAN FLAVOR.

Excellent, I made this recipe for yesterday dinner, I used the shitake mushrooms, added more garlic and green chiles, and it was delicious, we even didn't serve with any rice, just the mushrooms with tofu and water chestnuts, great.
