Ingredients

1 x leek whole, washed, chopped
1 x lettuce chopped
1 x cabbage chopped
1 x carrots chopped
1 x potatoes chopped
1 x lima beans
1 x squash yellow or green
1 x turnip chopped
1 x tomato chopped
1 x apple chopped
1 x rice dry or cooked, about 1 cup
1 x water to cover

Directions

This is true magic. Its called making food that you will like, out of leftovers you would otherwise toss out. This recipe is spawned off of one popular in the depression era. The trick is to toss everything you have about to be no longer usable, into the crockpot and then cover with water and slowcook it for 12 hours on low.

This one also takes well to the addition of leftover ribs, or just the leftover rib bones for flavoring.

Nutritional information: Low fat, low sodium (pending on additions made), sugar-free.

Serve with a small portion of smoked salmon salad on stone ground wheat crackers and a glass of iced tea.

IGNORE RATING--I COULDN'T ADD COMMENTS WITHOUT ONE! The steps of the recipe include two ingredients which are not listed at the top. They are sliced ginger (2 slices) and curry powder (1-2 tablespoons) . If someone wants to make the recipe they need to know about the amounts.
