These no-bake spider cookies are the kind of creepy-cute Halloween treat that gets kids racing to the kitchen.

Melted chocolate mixed with crispy rice cereal and shredded coconut forms chunky little spider bodies, while chow mein noodles become perfectly crunchy legs.

The whole process is hands-on, slightly messy, and absolutely worth it when you see the finished spiders lined up on waxed paper.

Dots of frosting for eyes seal the deal.

Kitchen Tips

  • Let the melted chocolate cool just enough to thicken slightly before attaching noodle legs, otherwise they’ll slide right off
  • Work quickly once the chocolate starts to set, or rewarm gently over low heat to keep it pliable
  • Swap white chocolate chips for a ghostly spider variation, or use butterscotch chips for a golden twist

Ingredients

2 473
CUPS ML CHOCOLATE CHIP *
½ 118
¼ 59
CUP ML COCONUT
shredded *
1 ½ 355

Directions

Melt 1 cup of chocolate chips in a heavy saucepan over low heat.

Mix in the cereal and the coconut.

Drop teaspoonfuls of the mixture onto waxed paper for the spiders’ bodies.

Melt the second cup of chocolate chips.

Gently stir in chow mein noodles.

When chocolate is cooled, pick noodles out one by one and attach them to the spider bodies for legs (8 to a spider).

Add dots of frosting for eyes, if desired. Leftover chocolate noodles can be made into more spider cookies.
