Halloween baking doesn’t have to mean turning on the oven.

These creepy critter cookies come together with store-bought butter cookies, mini peppermint patties, and a little frosting wizardry.

Pipe orange-tinted legs, stick on chocolate peanut butter candy eyes, and add sprinkle noses for spiders that look just creepy enough to make trick-or-treaters grin.

It’s more craft project than cooking, which makes it ideal for little hands.

Pro Tips

  • Use a small round piping tip for clean, even legs that actually look like spider limbs
  • Chill the assembled cookies for 10 minutes so the frosting firms up before stacking or transporting
  • Swap orange food coloring for black gel color to make the spiders extra spooky
