Ingredients

1/2 cup sugar
1 each egg
1 1/4 cups milk
3 cups biscuit baking mix (bisquick)
3/4 teaspoon anise
1/2 cup mixed candied fruit
3/4 cup walnuts or pecans, coarsely chopped

Directions

Heat oven to 350 degrees F.

Mix sugar, egg, milk and Bisquick.

Beat vigorously 30 seconds .

Batter will be slightly lumpy.

Blend in anise, fruit and nuts.

Pour into well greased loaf pan, 9x5x3 inch.

Bake 45 to 50 minutes, or until toothpick stuck into center comes out clean.

Crack in top is typical.

Cool before slicing.
