15 minIf sweet tea and citrus soda had a baby, this would be it.
Strong-brewed tea gets sweetened while it’s still hot, then poured over a full tray of ice cubes with fresh lemon and orange juice.
A generous pour of chilled lemon-lime soda goes in last, adding fizz and sparkle that turns this into something way more exciting than regular iced tea.
Makes two quarts, which sounds like a lot until you realize it’s gone in about twenty minutes on a hot afternoon.
Pro Tips
- Stir the sugar into the hot tea so it dissolves completely. Cold tea won’t dissolve granulated sugar well.
- Add the soda just before serving so it stays fizzy. Pre-mixing kills the bubbles.
- For a grown-up version, splash in some bourbon or vodka and garnish with citrus slices.
